Summary/Major Elements:

· The bill creates a felony offense of unlawful entry into an occupied structure. Under the new offense, a person is guilty of unlawful entry into an occupied structure if, without authority, he enters or remains in an occupied structure and commits or attempts to commit a battery or a domestic battery.

· The offense is punishable by up to 10 years in prison, a $10,000 fine, or both.
