Subject:                     Premium tax credit for certain mandated benefits

Summary/Major Elements:

· W.S. 26-20-401 requires health insurance companies and HMOs to provide coverage for the cost of training and nutritional therapy related to inherited enzymatic disorders such as phenylketonuria.

· This act provides that the cost of the mandated benefits paid by an insurer between 1/1/2014 and 6/30/2017 shall be allowed as a credit against that insurer’s subsequent premium tax liability.

Comments:

· The tax credit created by this act is repealed effective June 30, 2017.
