Catch Title:              Hunter safety-exceptions.

Subject:                     Game and fish hunter safety requirements.

Summary/Major Elements:

· Under current law, a person born after January 1, 1966, may hunt without possessing a hunter safety certificate if a mentor provides supervision.  Under current law, the mentor may only mentor one person at a time in the field.

· This bill provides that the mentor may only mentor one person other than an immediate family member at the same time.

· The bill exempts the following persons from the requirement to possess a hunter safety certification, regardless of age:

· An active member, honorably discharged member or veteran of the U.S. armed forces; and

· An active or retired Wyoming peace officer who has P.O.S.T. certification.
