Subject:                     Modifies reporting requirements to the legislature and distribution of state budget.

Summary/Major Elements:

· Under current law, certain agencies are required to report annually to the joint appropriations interim committee.

· This act eliminates some of those reporting requirements and moves many of the requirements to reports in the agency’s biennial budget request, thereby changing a number of required reports from annual to biennial.

· This act codifies a number of previously noncodified reporting requirements in order for reporting entities to be better informed of the recurring reporting requirements.

· This act provides that the state budget and the compendium of agency reports will be distributed as follows:

o Electronically to legislators unless a printed copy is requested;

o Printed to the budget division and the state library division of the department of administration and information, the state auditor, the department of audit and the LSO.
