Summary/Major Elements:

 

·        W.S. 27-3-311(f) currently provides that a person is disqualified for unemployment benefits if the person’s most recent separation from work was due to misconduct connected with work.

 

·        This act defines “misconduct connected with work” as an act “which indicates an intentional disregard of the employer’s interests or the commonly accepted duties, obligations and responsibilities of an employee.”

 

·        The new definition excludes isolated instances of ordinary negligence, good faith errors in judgment and inefficiency resulting from inability or incapacity.
