Summary/Major Elements:

· This bill clarifies that certificates of insurance are not amendments to insurance contracts and may not be construed to change the terms of an insurance contract.

· This bill requires language to be included on a certificate of insurance stating “This certificate of insurance is issued as a matter of information only and confers no rights upon the certificate holder.  Subject to W.S. 26-13-125(e), this certificate does not alter, amend or extend the coverage, terms, exclusions and conditions afforded by the policies referenced herein.”

· This bill requires that the form for a certificate of insurance (other than for surplus lines) must be approved by the insurance commissioner.
