Summary/Major Elements:

· Under current law, a person convicted of a felony or felonies may petition the convicting court for an expungement of the records of conviction.  Current law limits expungement for certain specified felonies.

· This bill amends the list of felonies that may not be expunged.  The felonies that may now be expunged include:

· Causing bodily injury to a peace officer;

· Possession of a deadly weapon;

· Possession of explosives;

· Promoting prostitution;

· Perjury;

· Felony DUI;

· Felony drug possession;

· Felony game and fish violations.
