(B) Provide proof of completion of not less than forty (40) hours of firearm training approved by the peace officer standards and training commission prior to authorization and continued training of sixteen (16) hours of firearm training approved by the peace officer standards and training commission every five (5) years. The board of trustees may establish additional training requirements by rule and regulation;
