Administrative Rule Review Report #AR09-036
Legislative Service Office
23-Jun-09
AGENCY: Wyoming Board of Speech Pathology and Audiology.
DATE SUBMITTED: June 23, 2009.
SUBJECT: Chapter 1, General Provisions, Speech Pathology and Audiology.
NATURE OF RULES: Legislative and procedural.
STATUTORY AUTHORITY: W.S. 33-33-202
DETERMINATION OF PROCEDURAL COMPLIANCE BASED UPON INFORMATION SUBMITTED BY THE AGENCY TO LSO: Apparently complete to date. The Agency received no comments during the comment period.
SUMMARY OF RULES: These rules make changes to Chapter 1 of the Board of Speech Pathology and Audiology's Rules. The new rules were promulgated to add definitions and otherwise update, clarify and conform to changes to the practice act, adopted by the Legislature in 2008. Specifically, the new rules define or redefine the terms "A.B.A.," "Audiologist," "Audiology," "Audiometric Technician," "CFY," "Direct Supervision," "Speech-Language Pathologist," "Speech-Language Pathology," and "Speech-Language Pathology Assistant." The rules update statutory references and allow the Board to convene additional meetings at the call of the chairman or any three board members.
FINDINGS: The rules appear to be within the scope of statutory authority and legislative intent.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: That the rules be placed on the Consent List and be approved by the Council as submitted by the Agency.
