JOINT TRAVEL, RECREATION, WILDLIFE AND CULTURAL RESOURCES INTERIM COMMITTEE

Standard Budget:     $52,500.00

Priority #: 1     All reporting agency education.

The committee would like to have one meeting where all agencies that report to the committee provide information and education regarding the agency's structure and budgets.  Those committees include:  Game and Fish Department, State Parks and Cultural Resources, Department of Tourism, Pari-Mutuel Commission and Wildlife and Natural Resource Trust Fund Board.

Priority #: 2     Game and Fish Department

The committee will study the following issues relating to the Game and Fish Department:

1.  Short and long term funding.

2.  Residency requirements for hunting and fishing licenses.

3.  Restitution statutes.

4.  Predator impacts on game herds.

5.  Updates on sensitive species and department programs, and any other issues which the department would bring to the committee.

Priority #: 3     Department of State Parks and Cultural Resources

The committee will study the following issues relating to the Department of State Parks and Cultural Resources:

1.  Supplementary department funding.

2.  State trails programs, issues and funding.

3.  Concessions master plan.

4.  Cultural Trust Fund board membership.

5.  Updates on department programs, and any other issues which the department would bring to the committee, including recommendations through the site criteria process.

Priority #: 4     Reporting agencies

The committee receives reports and updates from other agencies that report to the committee including the Pari-Mutuel Commission, the Department of Tourism, the Wildlife and Natural Resource Trust Fund Board and, if HB70 passes, the Wyoming Lottery Corporation.

Priority #  5 Agency Budget Review

The Committee will review proposed 2%, 4% and 6% budget cuts as submitted by the supervised agencies designated for the Committee's review last interim. [Study added by Management Council]

Meeting dates and locations:

The committee is requesting funding for two (2) two-day meetings and one (1) three day meeting during the interim.   The committee proposes to meet at the following locations:

1.  Guernsey, Wyoming - mid May

3.  Jackson, Wyoming - late August

4.  Kemerrer, Wyoming - October.
