JOINT JUDICIARY INTERIM COMMITTEE
Standard Budget: $50,000.00
Priority #: 1 Children In Need of Supervision
The Committee will receive
information and consider the need to update statutory provisions relating to
children in need of supervision, including consideration of legislation
providing for families in need of supervision.
Priority #: 2 Firearm Background Information
The Committee will examine
background information provided to the National Instant Criminal Background
Check System for purposes of determining eligibility to purchase a firearm,
including information relating to involuntary hospitalization orders.
Priority #: 3 Juvenile Data Collection
The Committee will receive
information and consider the need for legislation relating to the collection
and protection of juvenile justice data.
Priority #: 4 Offenses Against
Public Administration
The Committee will review possible
updates and modernization of Title 6, Chapter 5 of the Wyoming Statutes
relating to offenses against public administration.
Priority #: 5 Criminal Trespass for Data
Collection
The Committee will receive
information and investigate the need for legislation to address trespassing on
land to collect data.
Priority #: 6 Review of the University of Wyoming
College of Law
The Committee will receive
information and reports from the public, the judiciary and the legal community
respecting educational opportunities at the University Of Wyoming College Of
Law.
Priority #: 7 Sentencing and Detention
The Committee will receive
information from the Department of Corrections and consider legislation
relating to sentencing and detention, including mechanisms for improving and
managing criminal justice populations.
Priority #: 8 Forfeitures and Seizures
The Committee will review forfeiture
and seizure provisions and consider the need to clarify, update and create
uniformity among the statutes.
Priority #: 9 Method of Execution
The Committee will receive
information from the Department of Corrections concerning the need to amend
provisions relating to the method of execution.

Sexual Assault Protection Orders
The Committee will receive
information and consider legislation expanding the availability of sexual
assault protection orders.
Priority #:11 Informational Reports
The Committee will receive
information regarding various judiciary matters including E-ticketing, UW
Strategic Reserve for the University of Wyoming Foundation and the Wyoming Uniform Laws Commission.

#:12 Restoration of Voting Rights
The
Committee will review issues relating to the involvement of the Wyoming Parole
Board in the process for restoration of voting rights of convicted felons.
