PROPOSED INTERIM COMMITTEE STUDIES

2014 INTERIM

 

JOINT TRAVEL, RECREATION, WILDLIFE AND CULTURAL RESOURCES INTERIM COMMITTEE

 

Standard Budget:     $45,000.00

 

Priority #: 1     Game and Fish Department

 

The committee will study the following issues relating to the Game and Fish Department:

 

1. Outfitters and guides statutes.

2. Restitution statutes.

3. Intrastate Lacey Act.

4. Updates on sensitive species and department programs, and any other issues which the department would bring to the committee.

 

Priority #: 2     Department of State Parks and Cultural Resources

 

The committee will study the following issues relating to the Department of State Parks and Cultural Resources:

 

1. Concessions.

2. Supplementary department funding.

3. State trails programs, issues and findings.

4. Updates on department programs, including state coin minting, and any other issues which the department would bring to the committee, including recommendations through the site criteria process.

 

Priority #: 3     Department of Tourism

 

1. Value of advertising on tourism; study of other state tourism spending.

 

Priority #: 4     Wyoming Conservation Corps

1. Sustainable funding source.

 

Priority #: 5     Reporting agencies

 

The committee receives reports and updates from other agencies that report to the committee including the Pari-Mutuel Commission, the Department of Tourism and the Wildlife and Natural Resource Trust Fund Board.

 

Priority #: 6     Meeting dates and locations

 

The committee proposes to meet at the following locations:

1. Cheyenne - late April

2. Evanston - August

3. Lander/Riverton – October
