1) Review juvenile justice data collection

2) Confidentiality of minors in court proceedings outside of Title 14

3) Diversion programs

4) Expungement of juvenile records

5) Juvenile sex offender registration

 

Priority #: 2 Department of corrections-Justice Reinvestment Initiative

 

The committee will continue the work of the last interim regarding the Justice Reinvestment Initiative including the following issues: strengthen prison admission policies and practices, control length of stay, improve reentry outcomes, overcriminalization and prison population, alternative options to building a new prison.

 

Priority #: 3 Drug reform

 

1) The committee will review the legislative method of adding new substances, including new drug compounds and precursors,  to the Wyoming Controlled Substances Act.

2) Defining cannabinoids contained in edible and drinkable goods for uniformity in prosecution.

 

Priority #: 4 Asset seizure

 

The committee will study and review asset seizure, including what is the appropriate legal standard, as it pertains to:

1) Controlled substances

2) Human trafficking

3) All other seizures

4) Forfeitures

 

Priority #:  5  Gaming/gambling in Wyoming

 

The committee will review Wyoming's oversight, regulation and statutory law related to gaming and gambling in Wyoming.
