JOINT TRAVEL, RECREATION, WILDLIFE AND CULTURAL RESOURCES INTERIM COMMITTEE

 

Standard Budget:   $45,000.00

 

Priority #: 1 Game and Fish Department

 

1. The committee will receive information and education regarding the agency's budget, structure, licenses\permits and historical funding.

 

2. The committee will study the regulation and penalties governing:

a. The illegal hunting of antlered animals in winter feedgrounds;

b. Antlered hunting on the eastern side of the divide; and

c. Collection of shed antlers and horns of big game animals.

 

3. The committee will study special management area permits.

 

4. The committee will receive updates and consider recommendations from the Governor's Task Force on Game and Fish Department issues including long-term funding, conservation education and recruitment and retention of hunters and anglers.

 

5. The committee will receive updates on endangered and sensitive species, department programs and any other issues which the department would bring to the committee.

 

Priority #: 2 Department of State Parks and Cultural Resources

 

1. The committee will receive information and education regarding the agency's budget, structure and funding.

 

2.  The committee will conduct a cost analysis of state parks, including utilization of facilities.

 

3. The committee will receive updates on department programs and any other issues which the department would bring to the committee.

 

Priority #: 3 Bicycle Tourism and Recreation

 

The committee will study a long range plan for bicycle pathways for recreation and transportation and for requesting a safety report from the Wyoming Department of Transportation.

 

Priority #: 4 Feeding of Wildlife

 

The committee will study the intentional and negligent feeding of big and trophy game animals.

 

Priority #: 5 Reporting Agencies

 

The committee will receive reports and updates from other agencies that report to the committee including the Pari-Mutuel Commission, the Department of Tourism, the Wildlife and Natural Resource Trust Fund Board and the Wyoming Lottery Corporation.

 

Priority #: 6  State Parks Matching Account

 

The committee will study the creation of a state parks matching account for the purpose of funding improvements to Wyoming's recreational, wildlife and cultural resources.
