Delayed Effective Dates
Delayed effective dates - Often legislation provides that statutes either become effective or are repealed on a date well in the future. If the date is past the expected adjournment of the next regular session of the Legislature, i.e. the Legislature still has an opportunity to make a change before such a statute takes effect or is repealed, it appears on a list that is updated after each session. This list contains a date, a statutory reference and a brief description of the statute involved.
