State of Wyoming Legislature
You can search the Wyoming Legislator Database to find information about current and former Wyoming legislators. The database can be searched from this page by typing in the First and/or Last Name or try the Advanced Search page on the left for more search options.
The Advanced Search will allow you to search by name, county, district, city, party, or gender. You can also compile lists of legislators using these critiera. For example, if you select Big Horn from the County field, you will get a list of all legislators who have represented Big Horn County throughout history.
When you get your search results, you can click on the name of the individual for a link to biographical information available about that person during their time serving in the Wyoming Legislature.
The following information will be displayed for current and former legislators, if available: party, district, counties, years in house, years in senate, committees, leadership information, photograph, state offices held, and notable firsts. If the individual is deceased, the year the individual passed away will be displayed, unless the year is unknown and then only “Yes” will be displayed in the field. The years of service listed in the Senate or House only reflect the last legislative term served. The party field reflects the party affiliation of the last term served.
For current members of the Wyoming Legislature, the following additional information will be displayed: contact information, including address, telephone number(s), and e-mail address. In addition, members can provide optional biographical information including education, occupation, place of birth, date of birth, spouse name, number of children, number of grandchildren, religion, and civic organizations.
County and District Information
Prior to 1992, legislators were elected by county. In 1992, the state was divided into 60 House and 30 Senate districts and since then legislators have been elected by district with one representative elected from each House district and one senator elected from each Senate district.
