50 ~ 1/24/2011 5:01:13 PM ~ Nicholas: need to close this out..hit the floor...talk about open issues...bill does not get signed and approved for another week
43 ~ 1/24/2011 5:02:07 PM ~ Nicholas: 1. 383 not a big deal...bigger deal is ...rules were had to have a majority of both houses, then changed size...when JAC meets during session it is tense..operate more as a group in Dec..when meeting in session being lobbied ...dtake on attributes of conference committee instead of joint. Other change: With fewer democrats, one on the House size..the dynamics of the committee have changed from last year..need to talk about the rules.. will propose to go back to having a majority of both houses.. With respect to 383 will get it all on your side, half on the senate side.. I would have the Senate strip it because no support on house side..so would be between zero and 383..important to recognize what happened on the vote. We need to recognize that the budget is one we fully support and have support on both sides. I am asking you to take it out. It may become a mirror amendment. just happened on yours...recognize that as a JAC there is support on both sides...may get all of it if you put it through as a floor amendment..will ask Senate to vote it down..
57 ~ 1/24/2011 5:07:21 PM ~ Steward: I am ready...first, than you for recognition of the funding is not the issue. recognizing I mean what I say ....looked at it with study...half of the biennialized amount. Request to knock it down to half has no logic .. Became center of a larger issue.. will maintain my position collegues on both sides of house..only have our vote. I do not trade votes or caucus votes.. If there is a motion..I will stand by with my original .
32 ~ 1/24/2011 5:09:56 PM ~ Nicholas: Motion passed ..leave it where it is #2: Motion to add 500,000 to LSO budget for salary adjustments? Adopted
15 ~ 1/24/2011 5:10:38 PM ~ Nicholas: Lewis Street ..language offered - will be a footnote. No construction shall begin on the STEM building until the city of Laramie vacates Lewis street between... State has interest in making is safe for students If problem can strip the amendment next year. give bargaining power.
39 ~ 1/24/2011 5:12:03 PM ~ Meier: Parcel not purchased..if street not vacated..would private property have to go to county commissioner for ..
07 ~ 1/24/2011 5:12:30 PM ~ Nicholas: Everyone has access from 14th or 17th...If they do vacating..okay..do not need street torn up..want UW to be the owner
